Getting Clear Skin

Skin is one of the most interesting and important parts of our bodies. It offers us protection every day and as the aging process takes place the skin is one of the first things noticed. It goes through harsh elements, both from the exterior and interior; damaging elements that leave the skin in need of proper care. When this happens it has an effect on the protection and health of the body but also on the self-esteem and confidence of the person. There are important things to do to achieve healthy and get clear skin, things that should be done every day and things that should be done as needed.   1. Stay hydrated- be sure to drink plenty of water. Your skin needs water to keep the body functioning at its best. When the body becomes dehydrated it can cause the skin to look older and more wrinkled in appearance.
  2. Take a vitamin every day; be sure it includes top skin vitamins A, B3, C, E and K.
  3. Eat healthy, what you put into your body shows through the skin. Avoid greasy and fattening foods and be sure to eat a well-balanced meal.
  4. Protect- To protect your skin be sure to use sunscreen, hats and shade to prevent the damaging effects of UV rays. Avoid using tanning beds, for an alternative try a spray tan, or tinted body lotion.
  5. Moisturize- Moisturize your face every morning and every night. Moisturizing your skin will keep it soft, protected and hydrated.
  6. Cleanse- Be sure to wash your face at least twice a day. Cleanse and be sure to remove any makeup left on the skin to prevent clogged pores.
  7. Exfoliate- Use an exfoliator as needed to help remove old and dull skin cells from the surface.
  8. Doctor- Visit the doctor for any skin problems, whether it be acne, skin spots or moles. A dermatologist can treat your skin ailments and help keep the skin healthy and clear.
  9. Facials- facials can be a great way to give your skin a healthy glow and to provide a deep cleaning.
  10. Rejuvenate your skin, by using a derma roller, peels and microdermabrasion techniques.

The skin is the body’s largest organ, consisting of three layers of skin, the epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous level. The epidermis shed dead and dull skin, and pushed new cells to the surface. The dermis is where the hair follicles and oil glands are. The subcutaneous level is where the nerves and blood vessels are located. All these levels are so thin that you never really notice or appreciate their full effects. It is important to take care of your skin, not just for the appearance but for the health of it. The skin reflects your health, be sure it is reflecting what you want people to see. Clear and healthy skin is a possibility for everyone with the proper cleansing, maintaining, nourishing and repairing of the skin.
